The Harvest Festival is a large, free community event that has become a wonderful tradition for hundreds of Piedmont residents and its surrounding communities, to celebrate the start of the fall season while raising money for Piedmont’s elementary schools.

Hosted by the City of Piedmont and the Elementary School Parent Clubs, the Harvest Festival includes a vegetable growing and cooking contest, the amazingly creative scarecrow-alley, a carnival with fun activities for the young and young at heart, an event long jazz festival, art show, special interactive exhibits from community groups like the police and fire department and other community providers, lunch vendors, all with a small-town feel.

The Harvest Festival is usually scheduled for the last Sunday of September, and is preceded on that Saturday by a popular, fun and growing 5K race, that is comprised of running categories that make this race possible for most everyone. Proceeds from the 5K support the middle and high school wellness centers.
